Awesome Music Movies

My brother tweeted this link and after reading through the article I noticed some movies I haven't thought about for a while, but which I really like :-). Ferris Bueller's Day Off is off course a real classic.

When I was in New York last year, J. and I did the Sex and the City tour and the guid told us that the serie changed in the beginning, because Sarah Jessica Parker thought only one person could talk directly into the camera. Guess who she ment ;-)?

Oe, just found the trailer of the new movie of Sex and the City. I'm curious to the story, but the fashion still looks great!

A little trip to Prague, day 2, part 1

My mother, me and my brother on a boat for a little trip of an hour on the river Moldau. Here we had a nice view from the city. Behind us is the famous bridge of Prague.

The church.

A hanging statue of a woman on a bridge.

My brother wearing a kippah, otherwise he wasn't allowed to go into the Jewish church and cemetery :-). The Jews suffered a lot in Prague during the second world war. This was a very impressive building, because all the names of Jewish people who died in Prague were written on the walls and you could see a lot of things (drawings of children) from that period.

One of the Jewish cemeteries in Prague.

Outside the cemetery there were some stands where you could by some little things. I bought a nice necklace with my name (like Carrie from Sex and the City).

New York, New York Day 6

On wednesday we made a reservation for the afternoon for the Sex and The City tour. So we had no programma for the morning... That's why we thought it would be nice to have a look at Coney Island.

Perhaps we went to early because when we got there (after a small hour in the subway) nothing was open jet and it was quite quiet. I did like to see it, but maybe it's better for the next time (;-)) to go in the afternoon / evening instead of the morning..

We walked around there for a while and then sat on a bench and watched other people walking around.. After a while a schoolclass came and went into the attraction park. That was really cute, because they were screaming at the top of their lungs, while the attraction itself wasn't scary at all..

Coney Island..

Coney Island..

The fountain of Friends of the theme song.

In line to get into the bus for the Sex and The City tour.

The Pleasure Chest. A seksshop where Charlotte bought her bunny in the serie..

Restaurant Buddakan from the movie. That's the reataurant where Big and Carrie have their party before the day of the wedding (where Miranda says to Big that he would be stupid to marry, bacause marriage ruins everything) and where some celebrate new year (in the movie).

There's a really funny story behind this restaurant, because a few days earlier J. and I stood right infront of that door and said to each other that we thought the place was closed and that that was a good place to have a minute to watch on our maps... Whell.. We were wrong. And not a bit, we found out with this tour..

A playground where a lot of famous people go to with their children. Unfortunately, we didn't see anyone famous..

THE Magnolia Bakery. The best place of New York if you ask me..

A Bookshop where (also a few days earlier) J. bought a book for her brother. We didn't knew this place was also in a episode of the serie.

THE cupcakes..

Ohw my Gosj, I can sing for hours songs about this greater than great cupcakes. They were the best! That's one of my biggest reasons to ever go back to New York ;-)!

A few weekes later, in August, it was J.'s birthday and I bought her a book of The Magnolia Bakery so she can make these cupcakes for me whenever I want them ;-)!

The pub of Aiden and Steve..

Inside the pub of Aiden and Steve..

Drinking cosmo's. Now the day was complete :-)

After the tour we went to a very nice Mexican restaurant and ate these really nice wraps..

And drinked these great frozen cosmopolitains..

Just like the movies..

New York, New York Day 2

Ground Zero.
Very inpressive place to be. Also a strage place to be. When I walked around there, all the memories came back. My brother who came to my room to say some airplane hit some tower in NY.. The second airplane I saw hit the second tower on tv. The sounds. The towers tumbling down.. The terror..

We also went into a the Tribute Centre next to Ground Zero. It was a museum about the history of the Twin Towers, about what happened at 9/11 and about all those people who died on that horrible day. It made a huge impression on me. Now writing about it makes me still very angry and sad..

After that impressive morning we decided to make a walk around Soho, Greenwich Village and the Meatpacking District. In the beginning of the walk we already stumbled into this cute market.

At that market there was a performance of a group of elderly people who sang: "We're gonna rock tonight! We're gonna rock, rock, rock.. We're gonna rock around the clock". They sang it with moves and all.. So funny!

J. infront of a very cheap Mark Jocobs store. I already read about at home but didn't thought about it when we were walking. So by coincidence we saw some people waiting inline, walked to it and then the alarm bells went off and we immediately also went into the line. The store was really tiny, but great. Bought a nice bag..

J. and me infront of the house of Carrie of Sex and the City! This went kinda the same as with the Marc Jacobs store. We walked into a street and saw some Japanese woman make pictures of one house in special. So the alarm bells went again off and I asked them why they took photos of the house in special and they asked: "Well, do you know that serie, Sex and the City?" And I was like "Yeah!!" haha! Coincidence, coincedence..

Some dudes playing basketball.

View at the Chrysler Building..

Meatpacking District..

Original mac and cheese. It was delicious!

An unsuccessfull photo, but I think it captures the atmosphere of New York great..

The Empire State Building.

View from the Empire State Building. My photocamera isn't great in the dark, but it's better than nothing..

More view..

A guy playing the saxophone. What more can you wish for?

It was a 'bit' windy at some sides of the building ;-). Very nice if you wear a light dress. It caused some Marilyn Monroe moments ;-)..
