Last day, last concert, last time partying our asses of.

I was so SO tired, but I'm so glad I did not went home, but stayed. Maybe the best moment of Sziget this year!

Kees van Hondt was the guy who made this all possible. He's a Dutch dj who plays weird music. Everyone brings the funniest things with them. So much fun. I think it's a Dutch thing. If you're not Dutch you'll probably won't understand.

Get this party started on a Saturday night

I don't know how people take such nice pictures of their food. Last friday we tried, but failed big time, because all the food looked horrible! I don't know what happened, but I won't share them with you.

Here a pic of me and F. This saturday we are going for one day to the Rock Werchter festival. It is going to be so much fun! Hopefully the weather is nice. Yesterday the weatherman predicted it will be very hot this saturday, but today the forecast predicts rain and lightning and thunderstorms! That's not what I orderd!! Well, we will see ;-). Can't do anything about it and today it's just tuesday, so a lot can still happen (fingers crossed).

Tonight I'm going with my friends A., F. and J. to the musical Hairspray! We bought the tickets ages ago, so now the evening is finally here I am really excited! It's also nice to do fun things in the evening or in the weekend, now I'm working fulltime at my internship!

The balls of the Queen

Last week it was carnival and altough I don't live in the part of Holland that really celebrates it, we still did. We didn't wore funny clothes, but if there's an excuse for a party, we will take it ;-).. It was nice. Not great. But making fun pictures makes up for a lot. That night Holland also won the first (and for now last) golden medal with ice skating at the Olympic Games, so we were in a good mood :-)

Btw. Look at F.'s greater than great watch! J. and I got it for her in New York last year for her birthday that she celebrated only a few weeks ago.. F. is the biggest MJ fan in Holland, so we knew this gift would be the best ;-)!

Fantasizing about this year's summer

Last saturday I had the vacation meeting with my friends. Accept of last year, the three year's before we all went together on a vacation, but like I said, last year we didn't, because we couldn't find a location we all wanted to go to. I really love to go with all of my friends, but I don't want to pay a lot of money to go somewhere I don't really want to go to. So I was quite curious if this year would be different. But it was! To my surprise we talked with each other and found out that we actually have some locations we all would like to go to! On top of that (little) list there's Sziget festival in Budapest (Hungry). I'm so surprised my friends would actually like to go there, because they never talked about it, but that doesn't matter ;-). At this point it's not 100% sure, but I do like the plan. Hopefully all works out!

Last week I was also quite busy with searching for a internship for the second half of my college year. I had a interview with 3! women of a international publishing agency of three 'design' magazines. I'm hoping to get the job! Vingers crossed!

Ps. The picture was taken two years ago at the Greek island Crete. The people on the picture are the friends I'm going together with this year (again, if all works out ;-))..

High tea, snow and new year's resolutions

One of my new years resolutions is to make more photographs. This because I love to do it, I love to see them (I can really enjoy a nice photo) and because it's so much fun to have them for later.. And ofcourse it's also the most interesthing part of someone's blog (my opinion), so enough reason to go for it..

Unfortunately I have the worst digital camera ever. I have it now for approximately 6 years and altough it has the sweetest size, it's not good. So here's another resolution: save money and get myself a really nice camera. Last year I already wanted that, but then I choosed to spend my money on my baby and NY. Not the baddest decisions, but the craving feeling is still there. But at this point there's no money where I would like to have it (in my pocket ;-)) and so I have to save. That's good for me. Absolutely. But also hard haha :-P.. We'll see..

These pictures above are some I made yesterday with my oldy camera. We have snow for two and a half week now and it's still not dissappearing. That's not normal for The Netherlands. I can't even remember the last time we had this much snow for such a long time. I love it! Everything is so winterwonderland like. Only this morning I did not liked it that much. That's because I was on my bike (Dutch people do everything on their bike, even with a ton of snow ;-)) and the roads were awfull! Not the smartest decision, especially when you consider that the bus stops right next to my house.. Whell yeah.. What can you do about it ;-)..

Yesterday I also had a high tea at my friends A.'s place. She lost her job a few months ago and said that she would throw us a high tea when she would have a new job and today she started with one! It was really lovely. Almost all my dearest friends were there and A. made a lot of the nicest things. J. acted like a real hero by driving trough the snow and over the iciest roads. But she did it great! Compliments to her ;-)!

Now we are back to business. The vacation is over and today I'm at work and tomorrow I need to get back to class. Blegh ;-). Wish the holidays never stopped ;-)..

An amazing 2010

I had a wonderfull old year. I went to one of my friends places and there we just sat, talked, drinked, laughed and played old fashioned games. It was a great way to end the old and begin the new. I hope you also had a wonderfull night!!

On the picture you see me on the left and from me you see my lovely friends S., J. and A. We tried to light some firework, but it was quite windy and freaking cold, so we were very happy that it finally all worked..

Two days ago I finally celebrated Sinterklaas with my friends. We went out to dinner in a nice Greek restaurant in my home city. A few weeks before we draw lots and I got my friend S. We had to buy for each other a gift and we also had to make a poem. S. made a list of things she liked to get and on that list she had written a cook book for pasta, earrings or a necklace. I wanted to give her something pretty, so this (see picture) is what I got for her. I personally really love it and wouldn't mind getting it ;-)! Unfortunately S. was sick, so I don't really know if she liked it too.. I got it from this webshop. I think that she makes the prettiest things..

New York, New York Day 6

On wednesday we made a reservation for the afternoon for the Sex and The City tour. So we had no programma for the morning... That's why we thought it would be nice to have a look at Coney Island.

Perhaps we went to early because when we got there (after a small hour in the subway) nothing was open jet and it was quite quiet. I did like to see it, but maybe it's better for the next time (;-)) to go in the afternoon / evening instead of the morning..

We walked around there for a while and then sat on a bench and watched other people walking around.. After a while a schoolclass came and went into the attraction park. That was really cute, because they were screaming at the top of their lungs, while the attraction itself wasn't scary at all..

Restaurant Buddakan from the movie. That's the reataurant where Big and Carrie have their party before the day of the wedding (where Miranda says to Big that he would be stupid to marry, bacause marriage ruins everything) and where some celebrate new year (in the movie).

There's a really funny story behind this restaurant, because a few days earlier J. and I stood right infront of that door and said to each other that we thought the place was closed and that that was a good place to have a minute to watch on our maps... Whell.. We were wrong. And not a bit, we found out with this tour..

Ohw my Gosj, I can sing for hours songs about this greater than great cupcakes. They were the best! That's one of my biggest reasons to ever go back to New York ;-)!

A few weekes later, in August, it was J.'s birthday and I bought her a book of The Magnolia Bakery so she can make these cupcakes for me whenever I want them ;-)!
