This is it

Tonight I'm going with my friends A., F. and J. to the movie about the last days of Michael Jackson. Don't really know what to expect.

But first the sour before the sweet. In about two hours I need to make an exam (media and the law) for school. After that, my friends and I will meet somewhere and we'll go to a place to eat and after that.. we'll watch the movie..

New York, New York Day 7 (final)

Thursday was our last day.. The time really flew.. After packing our bags we went to the Museum of Modern Art. I didn't really liked everything, because some things are just too 'modern' for me (I don't really get why a white piece of paper is art..), but most of it was great. Specially the upper floors.

At one of the rooms in the museum there was a ungoing art project. You had to wait in line and then you had to stand next to a wall where they would write your name and the date on it (altough you can't really read our names.. And they wrote my name wrong! How hard can it be?)..

And when a lot of people do this, you'll get a really nice effect on the walls. So now a reminder of me and J. is still inside the museum. Really great idea..

Rock and roll art..

A piece of art that's really cool. If you look closely you can see a woman in a mirror. When you take some distance you'll only see a scull.

The view from the museum to the garden..

Another part of the view..

One of the most beautiful pieces in the museum. A really nice big painting..

Ohw, I really love Klimt.. This was one of the first paintings I saw in real life. When I was younger I made a paper about him and I had a calander of him on my wall.

When I was in Prague two weeks ago I also saw a really nice painting of him.

The starry night of Vincent van Gogh, Dutch pride ;-)!

When we got out of the museum we had to go back to the hostel because we had to go to the airport. When we walked we couldn't cross a street and I asked why we couldn't to a cop and he told me the president was coming! So unbelieveble cool!

When he drove by everybody started cheering and yelling. Really cool. After he came by we could cross the street and ran to the hostel. There I texted my whole family to tell them I 'saw' the president. I went totally bananas. My family probably to because it was like in the middle of the night for them to recieve my message ;-)!

And the final photo. One of the gym in the hostel. Made by me while the guards were telling me it was not allowed to take one. But I thought the gym was really cool. So American. You'll never see such a thing in The Netherlands..

And then the trip was over.. Well, not totally. A van picked us up from the hostel. Because of the president whole Manhattan was crazy and the car driver was in a lot of stress. When we left Manhattan she turned somewhere where she wasn't allowed to and immediately a police car stoped us. They approached the car with their hands on their gun and asked our driver for her papers. Eventually they just gave her a fine and she was totally relieved, because she was scared she had to go to court. After that we arrived at the airport and had to wait, and wait, and wait.. Because we already were to early and because of the president, again.. Ohw, that damn Obama ;-)..

The flight back was great, but we did had to run at the airport of Londen to catch our next plane. We made it all in time and when we arrived in Amsterdam my mom stood there as a surpise. A perfect ending of a faboulus vacation. J. it was greater than great! I loved it and I'm very blessed with a friend as you!

Inside Anna's world

Last weekend it was a filmweekend in my home town. The whole weekend, from the morning till past midnight they showed all kind of cool movies inside the theatre. Unfortunately, on the saturday I didn't had time to see any of the movies they played, because my parents celebrated their 25th wedding anniverserie with a big party. Altough the party was really fantastic, I missed the movie New York, I love you, which I really wanted to see..

Yesterday I did had time and altough nobody else could come with me, that didn't stop me from going. So I went and saw the documentary 'The September Issue'. I thought it was fascinating. I really loved Anna's and Grace's eye for detail and their workspirit, but what structed me was that it looked like they didn't enjoyed doing it at all. They looked sad, tired and alone.

Before the movie started, the famous Dutch couturier Edgar Vos (who worked for Dior) told something about his work and what he thought about the movie. That was also very interesting. I'm really glad I went, it was the perfect sunday afternoon.

Nostalgic for summer

Altough I really love autumn (the leaves are just so beautiful!), I feel a bit nostalgic when I see this commercial..

Dear Zachary

Most of the times I write happy posts about happy things, but last night I saw this movie / documentary and it wasn't a happy one at all, but it did was very impressive and shocking. I never heard about this documentary, but after a few minutes I was already totally into the story.

It's a 'letter' made by a friend of a guy who got murdered by his girlfriend who's pregnant of his son. He makes a trip through America whereby he talkes with friends of the guy who's killed. When I watched it I felt so sad about that little boy and also thought that it would not be nice to hear all those people talk so badly about his mom (altough she murdered his dad, it's still his mom).. But when I thought: The movie will now be soon over, there was an other part of half a hour whereby I couldn't believe my eyes! Horrible, just horrible.. But also very impressive and a nice gesture of the maker to his friend..

New York, New York Day 6

On wednesday we made a reservation for the afternoon for the Sex and The City tour. So we had no programma for the morning... That's why we thought it would be nice to have a look at Coney Island.

Perhaps we went to early because when we got there (after a small hour in the subway) nothing was open jet and it was quite quiet. I did like to see it, but maybe it's better for the next time (;-)) to go in the afternoon / evening instead of the morning..

We walked around there for a while and then sat on a bench and watched other people walking around.. After a while a schoolclass came and went into the attraction park. That was really cute, because they were screaming at the top of their lungs, while the attraction itself wasn't scary at all..

Coney Island..

Coney Island..

The fountain of Friends of the theme song.

In line to get into the bus for the Sex and The City tour.

The Pleasure Chest. A seksshop where Charlotte bought her bunny in the serie..

Restaurant Buddakan from the movie. That's the reataurant where Big and Carrie have their party before the day of the wedding (where Miranda says to Big that he would be stupid to marry, bacause marriage ruins everything) and where some celebrate new year (in the movie).

There's a really funny story behind this restaurant, because a few days earlier J. and I stood right infront of that door and said to each other that we thought the place was closed and that that was a good place to have a minute to watch on our maps... Whell.. We were wrong. And not a bit, we found out with this tour..

A playground where a lot of famous people go to with their children. Unfortunately, we didn't see anyone famous..

THE Magnolia Bakery. The best place of New York if you ask me..

A Bookshop where (also a few days earlier) J. bought a book for her brother. We didn't knew this place was also in a episode of the serie.

THE cupcakes..

Ohw my Gosj, I can sing for hours songs about this greater than great cupcakes. They were the best! That's one of my biggest reasons to ever go back to New York ;-)!

A few weekes later, in August, it was J.'s birthday and I bought her a book of The Magnolia Bakery so she can make these cupcakes for me whenever I want them ;-)!

The pub of Aiden and Steve..

Inside the pub of Aiden and Steve..

Drinking cosmo's. Now the day was complete :-)

After the tour we went to a very nice Mexican restaurant and ate these really nice wraps..

And drinked these great frozen cosmopolitains..

Just like the movies..

Sigh... Michael Cera..

Oohw, why is that Michael Cera so damn cute? I loved him in Juno and now I really need to see this movie.

Next to the Michael and his cuteness factor, it's also a really sweet story. It's about Charlyne YI who's making a documentary about love and while she's filming the documentary she actually falls in love, with cuty Michael (I added the word cute in case you didn't noticed how I felt about him ;-)).. A story whereby you can keep your faith in love..

Me in 1984

When a colleague told me about this website I couldn't believe my eyes. He couldn't believe his ears, because apparently this website is already quite old. Well, I never heard about it before and think it's hilarious! You should also try it and start a new bit of history!

Little trip to Prague

This month my parents celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. Therefore we (my parents, my brother and I) are leaving today for a little trip to Prague. This will be great. I've never been in Prague and it's also a long time ago we spend a vacation with the four of us together. When I'm back I'll share my pictures with you!

Dear Lily, why are you being this silly?

Altough I really really love Lily, I don't really know what to think about the things she said about filesharing. I don't agree, but also don't disagree. I'm in the middle. This song-come-open letter to Miss Allen is made by a man called Dan Bull who feels the same as me and also thinks Lily is being a bit of a hippocrate. I think that I agree with this Dan.. Love the part about Matt Bellamy and Dan's accent.
