A little trip to Prague, day 2, part 1

My mother, me and my brother on a boat for a little trip of an hour on the river Moldau. Here we had a nice view from the city. Behind us is the famous bridge of Prague.

The church.

A hanging statue of a woman on a bridge.

My brother wearing a kippah, otherwise he wasn't allowed to go into the Jewish church and cemetery :-). The Jews suffered a lot in Prague during the second world war. This was a very impressive building, because all the names of Jewish people who died in Prague were written on the walls and you could see a lot of things (drawings of children) from that period.

One of the Jewish cemeteries in Prague.

Outside the cemetery there were some stands where you could by some little things. I bought a nice necklace with my name (like Carrie from Sex and the City).

I will be singing and falling from your grace

To F.: Oohw oohw oohw. You are making a BIG, no what am I saying? A HUGE mistake!

This morning I bought tickets for a concert of MUSE in June 2010 and I can't wait! I'm going together with best buddy J. and I am already sure this is so going to be the best day of next year! I can not understand that you say no when someone tells you THEY are coming.. I really, really can't.. Sigh..

A short love story

You know I'm here waiting for you

Last sunday I had the best day. First I went with my dad to a soccer match (yes I'm a soccer girl, an Ajax girl to be exact) that went really well, because they won with 5 against 1. That already made my day. In the evening we knew there would be a concert of Franz Ferdinand next to the stadium. We also knew that altough the concert was sold out, there still were a lot of tickets on sale online. Because we both like Franz and we had no other plans we thought: "Why don't we try to get cheap tickets?" (when we went to the Arctic Monkeys a lot of men stood outside the Heineken Music Hall to still sell tickets for a very low price). So we called a guy who said on the internet he would be at the concert hall before the concert en we bargaind and before we knew it, we had two tickets for only 45 euro's (the real price was 35 euro's for one ticket!).. This all was great, but because I did't anticipated this to happen I didn't listened to all of his music so I didn't really knew what to expact, but in the end the concert was amazing! I actually knew a lot of his songs and the ones I didn't knew were still very danceble. It was a surprisingly great evening!

The end..

Damn, bad news. Oprah quits.. I don't watch it that often, but when it's on and I happen to be home and have time, I still like to watch it. I hope she will go further with her own channel.

Tonight I'm going out to diner with my friends B., J., and M. in a really sweet restaurant in my home city. I don't see these friends often and I also don't go out to dinner very often in my home city, so I'm really looking forward to it!

Moment of fame

Hihi, that's me in the middle :-)..

A little trip to Prague, day 1, part 2

A really beautiful building.

The back of the church.

Me eating something really nice. I had no idea what it was, bit it was very nice and sweet :-).

A statue of an angel.

My mom and me on the bridge passing by some salesman who sold handmade jewelry and paintings. I bought for myself a really nice pendant.

Here you can also see what I was waering. I want to make more often pictures of what I am wearing, but I always forget.. I'll try to do it more often!

Another statue of a saint on the bridge.

The best dessert ever! It was made just minutes before it was on our plate so it was really warm and pure.. Delicious!

And God created Arie

Tonight I'm going for the second time to De Wereld Draait Door (The world Turns). This time I'm going with my mom and dad and this time the eye candy is so damn good! Next to the presenter there's always a different person who 'helps' the presenter with some interesting questions and today that's Arie Boomsma. He's perfect (sigh). Can't wait till tonight! Thank you God!

Update: The evening was fabulous! I went on the photo with Arie and he's even hotter in real life! And he's also really kind. Maybe when I have figured out how I put photo's of my mobile on my computer, I'll post it!

Addiction

Love this show! It's my newest addiction. I know I'm probably really late with this 'discovery', but if you live in Holland you're always late with everything ;-). Can't wait to see the next episode!

Sinterklaas

Last saturday Sinterklaas arrived in The Netherlands. If you're not from here or from Belgium you probably never heard of him. He's a Dutch tradition, kinda like Santa Claus. On the 5th of December it's his birthday and he 'celebrates' that by giving all the sweet children some gifts. Between this weekend and his birthday you can also place your shoe somewhere in the house and when you sing a song the next day there will be a little gift in it. Offcourse he's not real, but when you're little you do believe in it ;-). It's a sweet tradition, but I don't really celebrate it. I'm probably going to eat in a restaurant with some of my friends and then we'll maken a poem for each other with a little gift. It's not the real tradition, but it's still nice :-).

A little trip to Prague, day 1, part 1

A street upwards to the church. This was a really cute street with a lot of nice tourist shops.

These type of dolls you saw everywhere. They were inspired by all kind of famous people. Here you can see Charlie Chaplin and Pinocchio.

A beautiful statue.

Me and the best view of Prague.

Prague. If you look closely you can see the bridge.

The church.

Inside the church. There were a lot of really nice mosaic windows.

Some policeman (?) passing by.

Cause he's a scumbag don't you know

The concert was great! I went with my brother and some of his friends and my parents were also somewhere in the hall. Here are some movies to understand the atmosphere. Altough I didn't knew all the songs it was a great evening. I wanted to see them for ages, so it was very nice to finally see them in real life. The only sad thing I noticed was that their hairdresser probably died or something, because they didn't even looked closely to the picture I posted two days ago.. ;-)!

How cute babys are being made

How to Make a Baby from Cassidy Curtis on Vimeo.

I saw this tiny movie months ago and always remembered it as a very creative way to celebrate the coming of a cute baby. I wanted to post it then, but I couldn't remember the link and now one of my favourite blogs posted it again, so here's for you J.!

Interesting theory

Normally, people take the escelator instead of the stairs. But if you make it a bit more fun, you'll see the effect immediately. I think this is a great idea and I would totally take the stairs!

TV debut

A few weeks ago I went with my friend F. to a live broadcasting of the program 'De Wereld Draait Door' (translation: The World Turns, without the AS ;-)). It's a tv-show where the presenter talks with guests about new, interesting things. There's also always some music in it and this time it was the band Awkward i. I never heard from them before, but after I heard them making their music, I really liked them. They remind me of the Fleet Foxes..

Ohw and that evening F. en I had our tv debut because we sat right behind the presenter, Matthijs van Nieuwkerk. How much fun ;-). The entire time I was thinking: "Ohw my Gosj, can people see me right now on tv?" "Do I look crazy?" "Don't touch your face!" Yeah, it was really relaxing ;-).. And after our debut, another friend of ours, A., had a real tv debut! She worked at a bank that got bankruptcy and went to the programm 'Pauw en Witteman' to show her support for her boss and then one of the presenters asked her a real question! So much cooler than F. and my debut ;-)! But in a one and a half week I'll go for the second time to 'De Wereld Draait Door', maybe this time they'll see how interesting I am and they'll also ask me a question (in my dreams ofcourse ;-))!

My parents were awesome

Love, love, love this blog!
It's filled with pictures of parents from back in the 'old' days.
Because we all know that our parents were way cooler than we will ever be!
